Britten Bethune


Britten D. Bethune, 36, of Trenton, died on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had served six years in Operation Enduring Freedom in Iraq. Britten had earned his degree in diesel mechanics from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas, and he enjoyed restoring old cars.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dwight Bethune; grandparents, Brinie O. Bethune and Elmer and Martha Walden; and step-grandfather Bill Nelson.

Survivors include his three precious girls whom he loved dearly, Ayiana, Avelynn and Emory Bethune; mother, Teresa Bethune; brother, Blayton Bethune; sister, Chrissy (Danny) Oliver; stepsister, Brandy Moore; grandmother Betty Nelson; niece, Brooklyn Oliver; nephew, Seth Carmon; stepfather, Jerry Giles; also several aunts, uncles and many cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19, in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home with Rev. Clay Moreland officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens with full military honors.

The family will receive friends Tuesday 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
