Gordon C. “Buddy” Crawford, 89, of Wildwood, died today, Thursday, January 24, 2019. He was a resident of Dade County for 56 years and a member of New England Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, Navy, and National Guard. Buddy was employed by DuPont for 38 years. After retiring he liked to do gardening and woodworking, but most of all he enjoyed playing with his great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Crawford; parents, Gordon and Dorothy Crawford; great-grandson Emerson Crane; and sisters Barbara Sherrill, Kay Morgan and Diane McClinton.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Ralph) Griffith; son, Gordon C. “Buzzy” Crawford III; grandchildren, Jonathan Stewart, Andrew Stewart, Samantha and Yale Crane and Brandon and Brandie Evans; great-grandchildren Nealey Stewart, Natalia Stewart, Alex Evans, Asher and Isaac Crane; sister Jean Hargis; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. at Payne Cemetery on Saturday, January 26, with Brother Jerry Atkins officiating.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 25, 4-8 p.m.
