Paula Jeanne Ross

It is with great sadness that the family of Paula Jeanne Tanner Ross, 80, announces that she died peacefully at her residence following an extended illness on Monday, February 11, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born to the late Paul H. Tanner and Elsie O. Carroll Tanner on March 7, 1938, in Cordele, Georgia. Paula was a fun-loving, warmhearted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, cousin and aunt. She was very caring and her family always came first. Paula was a member of Fort Loudon State Park in Vonore, Tennessee, and her passions, besides her family, included doing living history, making crafts, reading and sewing. She was full of life and would bring a smile to everyone she met, and she had the courage and strength of the bravest warrior.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Ross Sr. and brother, Joel T. Tanner. Paula will always be loved and missed by many, but never forgotten.

Paula is survived by her daughters, Debi Woods, Cindy Banta and Dawn (James) Pyron; son, George Jr. (Connie) Ross, and Donnie (Jennifer) Ross; adopted children, Annie, Marcus, David and John Williamson; 14 grandsons, seven granddaughters, 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; two nieces and one nephew.

There will be no formal service and flowers need not be sent. Online condolences may be shared at ryanfuneralhome.net.

Arrangements are by Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, Trenton, Georgia.
