Martha Ann Higdon, 79, of Higdon, Ala., died Saturday, March 9, 2019. She was a member of Higdon Holiness Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garlton B. Higdon Sr.; parents, Bessie Strickland and James Henderson; sisters, Ella Jean Parton and Sue Ramsey; brother, James G. Henderson; and daughter-in-law, Sandra L. Higdon.
Survivors include her loving family: daughters, Peggy (Denny) Davis, Rachel (Jimmie) Adams and Sylvia Smith; son, Garlton Higdon Jr.; sisters, Faye Durham, Nina Hudgins and Rosa Whitley; 22 grandchildren; Jennifer (Chris) Baker, Garlton B. “Shawn (Salena) Higdon III, Patrick (Tabitha) Higdon, Christie (Mark) LaHayne, Jeremy (Shelly) Adams, Lance Adams, Tiffany (TJ) Rakowitz, Amanda Smith, Cassie (Clint) McKenzie, Tara (Tyler) Brewer, Hilary (Tyson) Robinson and Toby (Caitlin) Davis; 33 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. EDT Tuesday, March 12, at Higdon Holiness Church with Brother Edwin Spurgeon and Brother Jody Gray officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Monday 11 a.m.-8 p.m. and Tuesday 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
