Arwin Yates

Arwin Yates, of Rising Fawn, died today, Friday, March 15, 2019, one day after celebrating her 96th birthday.

Her family have been residents of Dade County for six generations. Mrs. Yates was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was a loving Sunday school teacher for many years. She truly loved her Lord and was a testimony to many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, T.W. Yates; her parents, Lawrence Cole and Gertrude Cole King; and three sisters, Gertrude Trew, Margaret Hamilton and Ruth Dobbs.

Survivors include her sons, Thomas (Pat) Yates of Rincon, Ga., and Jerry (Imogene) Yates of Phenix City, Ala.; daughters, Lucile (Larry) Keown of Snellville, Ga., Carol (John) Bruce of Rising Fawn, Mary (Jerry) Henegar of Flat Rock, Ala.; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Sunday, March 17, at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Henegar officiating. Interment will follow in Trenton Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday, March 16th from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until the funeral hour at Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, Trenton, Ga.

Arwin Yates will forever be missed in our hearts. The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga for their loving care and kindness.
