Edward Wayne Andrews


Edward “Wayne” Andrews, 85, of Lookout Valley, Tenn., died Thursday evening, March 28, 2019. Mr. Andrews was a retired Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he proudly served for 20 years. He was also a master mechanic and worked as an inspector at Combustion Engineering and Pyramid of Chattanooga.

Mr. Andrews was a faithful member of Lookout Valley Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday xchool teacher and superintendent and where he was a founder of the bus ministry. He was a devoted Christian who loved to serve the Lord and a passionate man who was dedicated to his family, friends and country.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Baxter Coleman and Nancy Ruth Andrews; previous wife, Carolyn Beard Andrews; and great-grandson Colton Scott.

Surviving include his wife, Betty Joyce Andrews, of Lookout Valley; son, Edward Wayne (Nancy) Andrews, Jr. of Valdosta, Ga.; daughter, Donna (Don) Scott of Red Bank, Tenn.; grandchildren, Michael (Ashley) Andrews; Brian (Ashlynn) Andrews; Kara Andrews; Wade Scott; Andrew (Julie) Scott; Caleb Scott; stepsons, Steve (Carolyn) McCamy and Tony (Emily) McCamy; step-grandchildren Rachel McCamy, Melissa Harvey, Lexie McCamy and Jason Moore; sister, Jeanette (Sam) Lambert of Jasper, Tenn.; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, at Lookout Valley Baptist Church with Dr. Alan Johnston and Pastor Troy Walliser officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. with full military honors.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Lookout Valley Baptist Church.
