Homer Jerry Floyd, 72, of Lookout Mountain, Ga., a loving husband, father and grandfather, died, Friday, April 12, 2019. He was a lifelong resident of Lookout Mountain who loved life and had many friends. He loved music and making memories with children and grandchildren, friends and other family. Jerry was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, serving as lance corporal.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Brown; brothers, Ed Brown, Timothy Brown, Gary Brown, Jim Brown, Leon Floyd, Wayne Floyd, Gene Floyd, Bill Floyd, Robert Floyd and Winston Floyd; and sisters, Shirley Black, Francis Brown and Rosetta Clark.
He survived by his loving family: his wife, Loretta Floyd; daughters, Michelle (Bobby) Moore and Tara (Mark) Gladden; son, Trae (Tiffany) Creech; sisters, Pat (Duck) Sharp and Joyce Bailey; brother, Bob (Gina) Brown; nine grandchildren, Whitney, Lauren, Allison and Ashley Moore, Emily, Phoebe and Isaac Wallin, Aidon and Jadelynn Creech; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Monday, April 15, in the chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Mark Finlayson officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday noon-8 p.m. and Monday 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
