Bryan Gass


Bryan Everett Gass, 80, of Trenton, died Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at his residence.

Bryan was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from the city of Trenton Police Department and the Dade County Sheriff’s Office, where he was a deputy. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Novella Gass, and siblings Kenneth Gass, Dana Cagle, Carolyn Wooten and Sheila Spurgeon.

Survivors include his loving wife, Billie “Bit” Tinker Gass; children, Dewayne (Brenda) Gass of Trenton and April Gass Holman of Dunlap, Tenn.; grandchildren, Devonna (Kevin) Smartt of Trenton, Justin (Amanda) Gass of Bryant, Ala., Nicole Cannon of Rising Fawn, Dakota Ford and J.J. Ford, both of Dunlap; great-grandchildren, Cole Smartt, Hunter Smartt and Evelynn Ford; siblings James Gass of Trenton, Delean Ervin of Las Vegas, Nev., Brenda Smith and Gloria Weathers, both of Trenton; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services with full military honors will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 28, in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Cantrell and Rev. Jerry Adkins officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Whitt Cemetery with grandchildren serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Friday from noon until the funeral hour at Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, Trenton.
