Clyde Franklin (Hook) Raines


Clyde Franklin (Hook) Raines, 75, of Trenton, died peacefully at his home on July 27, 2019. He was of the Baptist faith.

Hook was born on Jan. 18, 1944. He was retired after 32 years of service with Hanson Inc. as head mobile mechanic. Hook was an accomplished deer hunter and avid sportsmen. He spent many hours throughout his lifetime in the woods. He not only enjoyed hunting game, but he relished in his storytelling of it. He was a great teacher of the art of hunting. Many young hunting enthusiasts came to hunt with Hook for leadership and guidance.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde Buck Raines and Dorothy Derryberry Raines.

He is survived by his four children, Rita (Tommy) Kirk, Clyde (Amanda) Raines, Roger (Pam) Raines and Lamar (Sherry) Raines; three grandchildren, Tyler Raines, Sarah Kelly and Sadie Raines; two step-grandchildren, Victoria and Christopher Weber; one great- grandchild, five step-great- grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a date to be announced.

The family wishes to express appreciation for all visits, flowers, food, calls and texts during Hook’s illness. A very special thank you goes out to Michelle Holifield, Kim Massey and Shirley Johnson of Tapestry Hospice.
