Martha Marie Jones, 84, of Trenton, died today, Thursday, January 30, 2020. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Martha was of the Christian faith and enjoyed sewing, quilting and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin “Bill” Jones; parents, Thomas and Mary Shelton; sister and brother-in-law Burma and Billy Plumlee, and sister Jackie Clark.
Survivors include her daughters, Debbie (Jimmy) Thacker of Florida, Carolyn (Byron) Ballard, Vivian (Dale) Whitmire and Nancy (Kenny) Jeffery, all of Trenton; sons, Billy (Samiya) Jones and Darryl Jones, both of Trenton; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; sisters Mildred Hollingsworth of Trenton, Edna (Ernie) Redger of Missouri, Darlene Chastain of Alabama and Tene Bolton of Trenton; brothers T.J. Shelton and Leonard (Ruth) Shelton, both of Trenton; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. EST Saturday, February 1, in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Wooten officiating. Interment will be held in Gib Doc Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Friday 3-7 p.m. EST and Saturday 9-11 a.m. EST.
