Betty Burrell


Betty Jewell Burrell, 85, of Trenton, died Sunday, February 23, 2020. Her life revolved around her faith in Jesus Christ and her family. She was an immaculate housekeeper, a great cook and a hard worker. Betty was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Pearl Hartline; grandson, Josh Burrell; brothers, Ollie Hartline, Alvin Hartline and Winfred Hartline; and sisters, Christine Bradford, Ruth Gross, Grace Elliott and Irene Bodenhamer.

Survivors include her loving family, husband of over 66 years, Troyce Burrell; sons, Roger (Debbie) Burrell and Jerome (Sandy) Burrell; sister, Pauline Christopher; three grandchildren, Shannon (Chasity) Burrell, Adam (Jessica) Burrell and Lamar (Christy) Burrell; 14 great-grandchildren and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday. February 25, at Woodlawn Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Witt, Rev. Adam Burrell and Rev. Edward Rosser officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Family will receive friends on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Trenton. Mrs. Burrell will lie in state at Woodlawn Baptist Church on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until noon.
