Grady Eugene Layne, 81, of Bryant, Ala., died Tuesday, May 19, 2020. He was a loving husband, father, Papa and brother. Grady proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and being with his family.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Tammy Layne; infant son Stacey Eugene Layne; granddaughter Celina Shea Rogers; parents, Edd and Beulah Layne; sister Renice Curtis; and brother Lewis Layne.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 42 years, Katherine; daughters Tonya Vann, Brenda (Darren) Rogers, Teresa (Carl) Clark and Treva (Roger) Haggard; sons Fred (Lorraine) Huckabee and Eddie (Marsha) Huckabee; grandchildren Ashley (Nathan) Harris, Casey Vann, Eric Rogers, Aaron (Whitney) Rogers, Savannah Clark, Melissa (Donny) Bryant, Jeffery Clark, Christopher (Jacklyn) Haggard, Whitney (Nathan) McCoy, Natalie (Billy) Kirby, Makenna Huckabee and Lexi Garner; great-grandchildren Liam Harris, Vivenne Harris, Krymson Rogers, Austin Rogers, Deacon Hurley, Sloan Bryant, Hudson McCoy, Ashton McCoy, Hadley McCoy, Helena (Jake) Marlborough, Easton Hamilton and Callie Hill; sister Doris Guyear; brothers Ronald Layne, Donald Layne and Harold Layne; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. EDT on Thursday, May 21, at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with Darren Rogers and Brother Johnny Wooten officiating.
